SCULPTURES

Matter as narrative
Wood, bronze, ceramic, glass, or methacrylate—each material has been transformed into a narrative, shaping a world in constant evolution. Every work occupies a space, embodying a vision that is reflected in the ever-changing physicality of matter.

Between avant-garde and poetry — works that transform space and perception.
Nespolo’s Sculpture: Poetic Transformations Between Avant-Garde and Landscape
Nespolo’s connection to sculpture has been evident since his early days during the Arte Povera period, through installations and sculptural works that engage in dialogue with the avant-gardes of the time. This evolutionary path led him to create figures that verge on the absurd, evoking almost surrealist sensations. These works not only seem to come to life but also establish a dynamic relationship with their surroundings, altering the atmosphere and generating bursts of exuberance that transform the very perception of reality.
Often placed in urban settings, Nespolo’s sculptures interact with their surroundings, infusing them with new vitality. A striking example is the monument Lavorare, a towering seven-meter-high work located in San Benedetto del Tronto on the Adriatic coast. This sculpture is inspired by the verses of Dino Campana, which are translated into tangible forms just steps from the sea. The strategic placement of the work transforms poetic words into a sensory filter, allowing the viewer to almost physically perceive the sound of the waves.
The vibrant energy that defines Nespolo’s paintings translates into a three-dimensional experience in his sculptures. By introducing volume, the artist brings the dynamic intensity and fervor of his expressive language into the realm of physical space, allowing his artistic vision to extend beyond the two-dimensional surface of the canvas.

Nespolo’s sculpture takes shape as a continuous dialogue between form and becoming, a sculptural interpretation of reality that mirrors the relentless flow of time and cultural transformations.
Each work embodies an evolving language, capable of observing and reflecting a world in transformation. Sculpture thus becomes not only an aesthetic expression but also a testament to the dynamism of existence and a space for engagement with reality.
