Nespolo for Ducati: The Collezione 100
Within the conceptual horizon of the Collezione 100, the aesthetic expression of historic Ducati liveries manifests as an investigation into the very structure of temporality. This specific artistic project establishes a deep connection between past, present, and future, resolving chronological distance into a synthesis where different eras coexist.

Twenty artworks suspended between the past and present of the Ducati myth
The visual corpus of the Collezione 100 establishes a mirroring dialogue between historical archetypes and the present to celebrate the Ducati centenary. Within this framework, the reference to Futurist aesthetics objectifies the ideal and invisible synthesis between the dynamism of speed, passion, and ingenuity.
he architecture of the artwork, conceived for the centenary of the foundation, unfolds through a corpus of twenty graphic panels governed by a rigorous specularity. Ten of these compositions analyze the contemporary models of the collection to trace their formal impact on the present day. The remaining ten turn symmetrically to the historic machines that sparked the initial inspiration, tracing the philological root of the myth.
The works objectify speed by reviving the aesthetic demand of Italian Futurism and the anthropological myth of the machine, while simultaneously celebrating the symbiotic relationship that unites the rider and the vehicle. At the center of the representation emerges an invisible yet constitutive dimension of the phenomenological experience of every Ducatista. An ideal balance thus manifests, capable of indissolubilmente connecting dynamism, passionate pathos, and technological ingenuity. This conceptual triad resolves into a harmonious synthesis that elevates the motorcycling experience to a philosophical value.
Formal decomposition of the Ducati myth
A narrative rich in color and charged with dynamism, which decomposes and recomposes the lines of the motorcycles to fully exalt the power and beauty of every single livery. These works, a tribute to Ducati’s one hundred years, constitute a unique collection destined to officially become part of the Borgo Panigale heritage, supported by the Fondazione Ducati.

“This collaboration reflects the desire to bring our technical and design heritage into a dialogue with the languages of contemporary art. A journey that is enriched today by the extraordinary vision and color of Maestro Nespolo.”
Stefano Tarabusi,
Design Manager @ Ducati Motor Holding

Man and machine: the conceptual operation aims to celebrate one hundred years of this perfect symbiosis through color, light, and matter.
Collezione 100 was created to celebrate the allure of those legendary liveries that marked turning points in Ducati’s evolution, capturing the hearts of enthusiasts and giving rise, today, to true collector’s masterpieces.
From the Scrambler 250 to the Panigale V4 S, from the 750 Supersport Cook Neilson to the Monster—a journey through the most iconic models that have captured the imagination of entire generations.

“I wanted to transfer the true essence of these motorcycles into these works, giving shapes and colors to the concepts that have always defined them.”
Ugo Nespolo
